Temática: ONLINE LABS IN EDUCATION
The importance of laboratory-based research and teaching is indisputable. Digitalisation in education and research enables new forms of location-independent access to online laboratory infrastructures. This Special Issue on Online-Labs in Education addresses technical, organisational and didactical topics. We welcome papers concerning fundamental and applied research addressing the following topics:
- Online (remote, virtual, hybrid, or augmented) labs in education: applications, experiences and evaluations
- Usage of VR/AR in lab-based scenarios
- The role of labs in Internet-of-Things (IoT) focussed lectures
- Didactical evaluations
- Didactical considerations for embedding online-labs in lectures and curricula
- Automation of lab-infrastructures
- Security and safety of labs
- Organisational aspects (trust, booking, billing, concurrent usage, collaborative lab networks, …)
- Business models and architectures on lab networks
- Virtualisation of labs
- Digital serious online games in education
- Learning-analytics integration with online-labs
- Other related fields of interest for online laboratories
